Struc Steel has operated continuously in San Diego County since 1996. That longevity matters for the people who work here. It means backlog, it means the same crew leaders year after year, and it means you learn the trade from people who have done it on real buildings rather than in a classroom.
Our shop and field crews handle everything from heavy structural frames to architectural stainless. The variety keeps the work interesting and it makes the people who stay genuinely versatile.
Roles we hire for
- Structural welders. Qualified to written procedures for flux cored, shielded metal arc and gas metal arc processes, with stainless capability valued.
- Shop fitters and layout. Reading shop drawings accurately and setting up assemblies so the welder can do good work.
- Ironworkers and erection crew. Connecting, bolting, plumbing and field welding under documented rigging and fall protection plans.
- Field foremen. Running a crew, coordinating with the general contractor and keeping the erection sequence on track.
- Steel detailers. Producing shop and erection drawings that anticipate how the frame will actually go together.
- Estimators and project managers. Reading a plan set, scoping it honestly and carrying the job through closeout.
- Drivers and material handlers. Getting steel to the site in sequence, safely, on time.
What we look for
Reliability first. Skill can be developed and we are willing to develop it, but showing up ready to work is not something we can teach. Beyond that, we look for people who follow safety practice without being reminded, who ask a question rather than guess at a detail, and who care whether the work looks right.
